Crime rate drops

SAHIWAL: The district police have significantly improved the law and order situation over the past nine months, recovering narcotics worth Rs3 billion and dismantling multiple criminal networks.

District Police Officer Rana Tahir said 1,289 individuals involved in drug smuggling and illegal sales were apprehended.

The recovered drugs included 83kg heroin, 263kg hashish, 5kg opium, 14,196 bottles of liquor, and 4kg of crystal meth (ice). Moreover 65 sites where illegal liquor was being produced were sealed.

He said police efforts also led to a notable reduction in heinous crimes.
