KARACHI: Saad Habib Malik and Nauman Ilyas combined to take Pakistan Team ‘A’ to victory in the J.R. Jayawardene Trophy at the National Amateur Golf Championship on Friday Saad and Nauman grossed 14-over 302 overall in the two-day match, finishing two strokes ahead of Pakistan Team ‘B’ and 10 shots ahead of the Sri Lanka Team.

Teams of Pakistan and Sri Lanka contest the trophy, with the International Team Match also saw Bangladesh take part. Bangladesh finished fourth overall at 28-over.

Saad and Nauman were also part of the four-man Pakistan Army team that won the Inter-Association Match by 12 strokes after totalling 11-over 443 over two rounds.

Sindh Golf Association Team were the runners-up with Wapda in third place, a shot further adrift.
