TAXILA: An under-trial prisoner escaped from the judicial lockup of Taxila court complex due to alleged negligence of the security staff, police sources said. According to police, the accused, identified as Hasan Ali, was brought from Adiala jail Rawalpindi in connection with hearing of his case at a local court and kept in lockup.

After a while when police check the judicial lockup, the prisoner was missing under mysterious circumstances.

The lockup in-charge Sub-Inspector Tariq Mehmood and Moharrar Constable Rashid Khan were on duty at the time of the escape. The dereliction of duty forced the authorities to register an FIR against the security personnel under charges of criminal negligence and gross misconduct.
