ISLAMABAD: Maulana Kausar Niazi, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Information Secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party, in a statement issued here today [Aug 12] fully supported the call of the Government of Jordan for holding conference of the Foreign Ministers of Islamic countries on the issue of Masjid Ibrahim. The Minister appealed to the Muslims in Pakistan to observe next Friday, Aug 15, as “Duaa Day” for the Haram-i-Ibrahimi and said on this day special prayers should be held for success in efforts of Arab brothers to get back their legitimate rights.

Following is the Press statement issued by the Minister: I have been shocked to hear of the reports appearing in the Press about recent attempts of Israel to occupy one of the portions of Masjid-i-Khalil. The Israelis attempt to forcibly occupy and desecrate these places is a matter of utmost grief and frustration to the Muslims of Pakistan. After Masjid-i-Aqsa this is the Israelis second attempt to injure religious sentiments of Muslims. This is not only morally [abhorrent] but also a violation of Geneva Agreement.
