TOBA TEK SINGH: A youth was arrested for allegedly raping two minor boys in Gojra on Thursday.

The Gojra City police said the accused came as a guest to his maternal uncle’s house in Muhallah Haider Park from Chak 359-JB.

The police claimed the accused lured his host’s 10-year-old son and his seven-year-old friend to Jinnah Park where he forcibly raped them.

The police have arrested the accused.

ACID ATTACK: Unidentified persons threw acid on a homeopathic doctor in the locality of Bangla Yasmeenwala in Ahmadpur Sial, Jhang, on Thursday.

The Garh Maharaja police said that Dr Muhammad Ajmal was asleep in his house when the accused scaled the outer wall and sprayed acid on his body. He was critically injured as a result. Doctors at the THQ Hospital referred him to the Multan Nishtar hospital for treatment.

SENTENCED: Faisalabad District and Sessions Judge Abdul Raheem handed down death sentence with a fine of Rs1 million to a murder case accused, Wajahat Hussain, of Civil Lines area.

According to the prosecution, the convict had shot dead his sister, Aneela Bibi, over some domestic dispute in 2022.

DISTINCTION: The son of a poor kiln worker from Jhang has secured the second position in the Faisalabad BISE SSC results in the Arts group.

Kiln worker Amanullah told reporters, after his son Faisal was awarded a prize by the Faisalabad commissioner on Thursday, that his son was a student of a religious seminary. He said that despite him being a poor worker, his three other children were also studying in schools.

TERMINATED: Faisalabad DC retired Capt Nadim Nasir terminated Waste Management Company (WMC) assistant manager operations and 14 monitoring officers from service on Thursday.

During a Suthra Punjab programme meeting, he took notice of the negligence in cleanliness and submitting wrong reports to the higher authority and terminated the officials.

He warned that anyone found not performing his duty would face action.
