TOBA TEK SINGH: Five Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) officials of Civil Lines division were suspended from job for unlawfully providing electricity to Umair Town of Faisalabad.

Those facing action included executive engineer Muhammad Waqas, Muslim Town SDO Mubashir Amin Larra, line superintendent Muhammad Shahbaz, lineman Muhammad Asif Saleem and Islampura subdivision meter supervisor Arif Ali.

A spokesperson for Fesco said the Fesco chief executive officer had deputed Chief Engineer Muhammad Saeed for inquiry who declared all of them guilty of the charge levelled against them.

Also, Fesco Deputy Director of Complaints Hafiz Shahzad has said the Power Information Technology Company has released the monthly performance report of Fesco’s call centre 118.

He said the complaint system received 39,500 complaints in April, of which 39,164 were resolved, while action was underway on 336 complaints.

He said the regional complaint centre at Fesco headquarters was working round the clock to resolve complaints.

TWO YOUTHS DIE: Two youths died and another was injured in a collision between two motorcycles in Toba Tek Singh on Tuesday on Akalwala Road near Government Women Vocational Training Institute.

Rescue 1122 officials said a man riding a motorcycle was on way to Chak 330-JB, Seowal, while the other with a pillion was coming from opposite direction and the accident occurred due to the speeding factor of both motorcycles.

Both deceased identified as Haseeb Waheed, 21, of Ghaziabad locality and Muhammad Hamza, 17, of Chak 330-JB, Seowal, were injured and were shifted to DHQ Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

The condition of wounded 16-year-old Hafeez Sultan of Chak 327-JB, Bhalair, was reported to be serious.

In another accident, a young man died after his motorcycle collided due to speeding with a rickshaw on Gojra-Moongi Road.

Kamran of Chak 159-GB, Gaggo Mahal, was referred by Gojra THQ hospital doctors to Faisalabad Allied Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

GANG-RAPE: A boy was allegedly gang raped by two youths in Gojra Chak 518 GB on Tuesday.

The complainant said in her FIR registered by Gojra Saddar police under section 376 of PPC that her teenage son was taken away by the two named suspects to an outhouse where they raped him on gunpoint and also filmed their act with a mobile phone camera to blackmail him.

Police have arrested both suspects.

BEGGAR GANG: People’s Colony police in Faisalabad arrested a three-member women beggars’ gang for theft in different areas.

Police said during initial inquiry they have confessed a theft in a house and have recovered from them Rs970,000 and golden ornaments worth millions of rupees.

CATTLE MARKETS: Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir has said that seven cattle markets were being established in the district for Eidul Azha.

Addressing a meeting in this regard he said on Thursday that their locations included one each at Faisalabad City, Samundri, Tandlianwala and two at unspecified sites.

The meeting was also attended by ADCG, assistant commissioners and representatives of cattle markets, local government department and traffic police.
