ISLAMABAD: Robbers and burglars looted cash and valuables worth over Rs22.6 million in nine strikes in the city, police said on Monday.

In the first incident a gang of robbers looted livestock worth Rs1million from the area of Sohan. The incident took place when Rafi Ullah along with his employee Faizan took the goats and sheep to graze.

Six persons riding on different cars appeared at the scene and held them at gunpoint. They looted 20 goats and sheep, loaded the livestock in their vehicle and escaped.

Likewise, a gang of robbers looted Rs350,000 cash from a supplier of a poultry in Thanda Pani.

Tahir Iqbal was heading to Islamabad from Fathpur with a supply of chicken when two motorcycle riders intercepted him at Thanda Pani and stole cash from him and escaped.

In another incident, some burglars stole cash and valuables worth over Rs10 million from a house of Rehan Ahmed in D-12.

The incident took place when he along with his family left for Murree. On returning, he found the house ransacked, and cash amounting to $14,700, Rs100,000, six wrist watches, worth Rs6 million gold, emerald, ruby, and diamond sets stolen.

Likewise, burglars stole gold and other items worth over Rs4.5 million from the house of Fayaz Ahmed located at D-17.

Burglars also stole gold worth Rs1.8 million from a house of Adnan Rasool in G-9/2.

Besides, burglars stole valuables worth Rs1.6 million from a house of Ovaisur Rehman located in Khanna area.

Another house was burgled, with burglars escaping with four tolas gold worth Rs1.2 million, and household items worth Rs400,000.

In yet another incident, burglars stole cash and valuables from a house of Wajid Ali located in Pindorian. The culprits broke into the house when the residents had gone to their native town for Eid celebration.

Burglars stole cash and valuables, including gold and motorcycle worth Rs1.1 million from a house of Mohammad Abad in Bhara Kahu when the residents left for Jhelum for Eid celebrations.

Meanwhile, thieves stole cash and gold worth Rs1.1 million from a house of Noman Altaf located in I-9/1.

The incident took place when the residents left for Lake View Park. On returning, they found cash amounting to Rs100,000 and five tola gold worth Rs1 million stolen.
