MANSEHRA: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Syed Mohammad Attique Shah on Friday said the construction of the Mansehra and Balakot judicial complexes would begin soon, as land for the project had already been acquired.

Addressing the district bar members here, the chief justice said that a strong bar was essential for maintaining the sanctity of the judiciary and an early dispensation of justice.

“I chose to visit this bar because of its remarkable legacy and contributions to the bench. I am optimistic that this strong liaison will continue for the swift delivery of justice to people,” he told the district bar members here.

The chief justice also inaugurated a playground for the children of female litigants, a recreational space for women judges and litigants, and a consultation facility for couples about cases of divorce and children’s custody.

He said that the Peshawar High Court was taking measures to ensure speedy case disposal by subordinate courts.

“The lawyers have played a pivotal role in ensuring the early disposal of cases across the province, including Mansehra, and I hope they will continue doing so,” he said.

On the occasion, District Bar Association president Hafiz Mohammad Naseem Khan said the bench and bar were working together to ensure the swift disposal of cases.

He said Islam emphasised the early dispensation of justice, so both the bench and bar should act accordingly.

Mr Naseem urged authorities to allocate the police ground adjacent to the court premises for the development of a judicial colony.
