CHITRAL: Speakers at an awareness session here on Wednesday said that preparedness was must to control accidental fire erupted in buildings situated in congested areas.
Held under the aegis of civil defence department and Chitral Safety Solutions (CSS), the session on fire safety was largely attended by the representatives of Aga Khan Foundation and other organisations as well as business community.
Speakers said that it was the binding on every government and non-government office and business centre to maintain updated fire fighting arrangements and impart basic training on fire fighting to its staff while no building could be imagined without fire cylinder as per the relevant law.
The civil defence officer, Ismail Jan, said that with the fast growing human settlement in Chitral city, one could not ignore the implementation of the basic laws regarding fire fighting in a building.
He said that it was observed that fire was extinguished before it went out of control in the buildings that were properly equipped with fire fighting tools. He expressed his satisfaction over the services rendered by CSS in fire fighting preparation by arranging trainings and providing the facility of re-filling of fire cylinders in Chitral for the first time.
The chief executive of CSS, Fazulur Rehman, expressed his resolve to expedite his efforts in imparting training and providing facilitation in fire fighting endeavours.
