BAJAUR: Speakers at a convention of the students of seminaries here the other day stressed the need of imparting modern education to the students of religious schools to help them play their active role in promotion of tolerance in the society and for socioeconomic development of the region.

The ‘Ettehad-i-Talaba’ (students’ unity) convention was arranged by Jamiat Talaba Arabia (JTA) at a seminary in Khar.

Teachers and administrators of seminaries also attended the convention meant to make seminary students aware of the modern-day challenges.

They termed such events vital to find the answers to the issues the seminary students were facing.

Highlighting the importance of seminaries in promotion of religious education and Islamic ways of life in the society, the speakers noted that seminaries were the fortresses of Islam, playing a significant role in promoting brotherhood and tolerance in the society.

The speakers noted that there were no facilities of modern education in the seminaries of Bajaur.
