LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday visited the CBD Walton project and reviewed progress, inspecting the ongoing construction activities, besides reviewing the work on Walton Road drain.

Directing early completion of the Walton Road project, the chief minister said: “We are fully aware of the difficulties being faced by the people of the area due to the construction of Walton Road project.”

She directed the officials that the three-lane carriageway on Walton Road should be opened for traffic next month.

Meanwhile, CM Maryam hoisted the national flag at the Alamgiri Gate of Lahore Fort in connection with the Independence Day.

She visited Mazar-e-Iqbal, laid a floral wreath there and offered Fateha. She prayed for the progress, prosperity and stability of the country and paid homage to the poet.

Students clad in Sindhi, Balochi, Kalash, Kashmiri, Punjabi, Cholistani and other regional dresses were present there, while differently-able children presented the national anthem.

Ambassadors of various countries also participated in the Independence Day ceremony.
