MUZAFFARGARH: An accident occurred in Chobara tehsil of Layyah district on Monday when a van collided with a car. As a result, a woman and her son in the car died, while her husband and another son were seriously injured.

The deceased have been identified as Shakeela Bibi and her son, Hamza. The injured father and son, Abu Bakr and Tipu, were taken to Chobara Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition.

The car was completely damaged.

Four passengers in the van, identified as Sher Muhammad, Shehbaz, Ijaz and Akram, sustained minor injuries.

Eyewitnesses reported that the car hit the divider line and collided with the van, with the accident attributed to an error by the car driver.

The van was en route from Faisalabad to Kot Addu.

ARRESTED: The main suspects in a double honour killing were arrested on Monday by Sananwan police.

Sanawan DSP Tahir Ejaz announced the arrests at a press conference, saying the suspects were arrested within 36 hours of the incident.

Tariq Aziz Gashkuri and his wife Shazia Bibi were shot dead while asleep at their home on June 22.

The DSP said Shazia had divorced her first husband a year ago and had a court marriage with Tariq. Her brother Waqar and ex-husband Taveer allegedly shot and killed the couple out of anger over her second marriage.
