KARACHI, March 13: Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi was the great scholar and expert of Islamic jurisprudence who had the vision of pushing Muslims out of their inactive life and taking them along in the dynamism of Islam.

He envisioned the new role for Muslims in the changing situation, in the subcontinent, emerging after the World War-I.

These tributes were paid to the great scholar by leading figures of the country in their messages to the Idara Tehqiqat Imam Ahmed Raza International, Karachi, on the eve of March 26 International Conference being organized to highlight the vision and concept of the Imam.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mohammad Ijazul Haq has stressed on the promotion of the Imam’s teachings and Naat poetry not only to meet the Islamic society’s requirement but also for the guidance of Ummah.

Minister for Social Welfare Zubeda Jalal said that the Imam’s writings were still today a beacon light for us.

Minister for Local Government Justice (r) Abdul Razzak A. Thahim has said that Imam Ahmed Raza Barelvi was an institution in himself who was well-versed with more than 50 branches of knowledge. He has contributed countless books on various topics related to Islam, Fiqah, Jurisprudence, Science and Economics.

Delegates to the conference include scholars from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Kuwait and many other countries. The conference will be presided over by Pirzada Qasim whereas the chief guest would be the governor.
