LAHORE: The caretaker provincial government has appointed Kamran Khan, police officer of grade 21, as the new inspector general of police (IGP) of south Punjab police. MR Khan was previously serving as the additional IG of logistics and procurement.
The official announcement of his transfer and posting against an existing vacancy was made late on Saturday. Mr Khan was interviewed by Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and his appointment received approval from the Election Commission of Pakistan after a summary was presented.
Prior to this appointment, Mr Khan served for six years in the Punjab Safe City Authority and held various positions in Balochistan for four years.
