BAJAUR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz provincial vice-president and former lawmaker Shahabuddin Khan has resigned from the post of chairman board of directors of Tribal Electric Supply Company (Tesco).

According to a statement shared on his social media account, Mr Khan stated that he was pleased to resign from the post of chairman board of directors of Tesco after remaining on the position for about four months.

The statement came hours before he submitted nomination papers for NA-8 and provincial assembly constituency of PK-20 here.

However, sources told Dawn on Saturday that Mr Khan left the post for taking part in the February 8 elections. They added that though the post of chairman board of directors of Tesco was an honorary position, the former MNA had resigned from it to avoid any possible objection by his rival candidates on his nomination papers.

The sources said that Mr Khan, who was appointed to the post during the PML-N-led PDM federal government on the recommendations of the party’s provincial president Amir Muqam, had assumed the office about four months ago.
