RAWALPINDI: In response to information that sacrificial animals were being brought to Rawalpindi illegally and most of them were stolen, police have decided to establish special pickets to prevent animal theft.
A directive issued by the SSP operations in the light of intelligence to the police said special pickets will
be established to check the theft of sacrificial animals.
The SSP directed the concerned deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) and SHOs to disallow entry of trucks loaded with sacrificial animals into the city during night hours.
He also directed them to strengthen security measures and send reports to his office on a daily basis.
The SSP also directed the police to deploy two traffic wardens with the district police to stop vehicles transporting sacrificial animals.
He said police should ensure checking of suspicious vehicles and motorcycles and remain on high alert.
