OKARA: A man along with his father and brother axed his wife to death here on Thursday over a family feud.
As per the first information report, complainant Waqas Bibi said her daughter Saadia Bibi had married Ashiq Hussain of village 26/1AL 10 years ago. The couple had five children and had been quarrelling off and on.
On Wednesday, the couple exchanged hot words and the woman went to her parents house in the same village. In the evening, Ashiq along with his father and brother came there for reconciliation. After some time, the suspects overpowered the woman and axed her to death.
On the report of Waqas Bibi, Shergarh police have registered a case against Ashiq Hussain, his father Qadeer Hussain and brother Sakhawat under sections 302 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code.
ENCOUNTER: A gunman was killed while two of his accomplices managed their escape after a ‘shootout’ with police on Wednesday midnight near village 28/2L.
According to FIR, a Saddar police team, headed by SI Muhammad Arshad, received information that three suspects riding a motorbike robbed Umair of his valuables. The team chased the suspects who fired on the personnel. During a ‘shootout’, police found one of the suspects dead and recovered the snatched bike of Umair along with the cash.
The Saddar police on the report of SI Muhammad Arshad registered a case against three unidentified gunmen under sections 302, 324, 353 and 186 of Pakistan Penal Code beside section 13-2(a) of The Punjab Arms Amendment Ordinance 2015 and Punjab Arms Ordinance section 20 of 1965.
The Saddar police also registered a case under section 392 of PPC on the report of Umair who was deprived of his bike, CNIC and cash worth Rs14,000 near railway level crossing at village 3/4L.
