TAXILA: The body of a man was found from the underground water tank of an under-construction house in a private housing society on Friday, police and hospital sources said.

According to the sources, upon receiving information, police reached the spot and shifted the body to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospital, Taxila.

The deceased was in his 30s and the body was about seven days old. The body was not identified till filing of this news report.

Proclaimed offender held

Taxila police on Friday arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) wanted in two murder and one attempted murder cases.

According to a police spokesman, Umar Khan had shot dead a man identified as Adil Khan over an old enmity in February last year.

In September 2022, he also shot dead Danish Khan when he was going towards court.

Three days ago, the PO also attempted to shoot his rivals when they were coming to appear before the local court and fled. On Friday, police raided his hideout and arrested him.
