LAHORE: SQ Seagold and FG/Din Polo registered thrilling victories in the LSC third Allama Iqbal Polo Tournament here at the Pakistan Park Cavalry Ground on Thursday.

Raja Jalal Arsalan’s three goals helped SQ Seagold Polo Team edge out BN Polo Team 6-5½. Mir Huzaifa Ahmed slam­med a brace and Omer Asjad Malhi struck one to complete the winners’ tally.

Haider Naseem scored a brace while Babar Naseem and Raja Samiullah converted one each for BN Polo Team, which also had one-and-a-half goal handicap advantage.

Though the winners by the third chukker had taken a solid a 5-2½ lead, they survived a scare in the fourth and final chukker when the losing side slammed three goals and conceded only one.

In the second match, four goals from Mian Abbas Mukhtar guided FG/Din Polo Team to a narrow 7-6 win against Inara Polo/Black Horse Paints.

Saqib Khan Khakwani hammered a hat-trick for the winners while Nico Roberts fired four goals. Abdul Rehman Monnoo and Daniyal Shaikh scored one each for the losing side.

Till the end of the penultimate chukker it was 5-5 but in the final chukker the winners scored twice against one to end the nerve-breaking encounter.
