TOBA TEK SINGH: Three robbers were killed in two ‘encounters’ in Faisalabad on Saturday.

A Faisalabad police spokesperson told the media that a Dolphin squad confronted two gunmen who were looting people at Hajiabad located on Sheikhupura Road. The suspects opened fire and in retaliation both were killed.

A press release said the robbers have been identified as Suhail Akram of Jaranwala and Bilal Hussain of Nankana Sahib. Suhail was wanted by Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib and Faisalabad police in 19 robberies while Bilal Hussain was involved in several robbery cases in Gujranwala district.

In another incident, a police team on a tip-off raided Moggianwala Adda located near Chak 601 GB in Tandlianwala tehsil’s Bahlak area. On seeing the police, robbers opened fire and during a shootout one of the suspects was killed on the spot; however his accomplices managed their escape.

Faisalabad CPO Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani visited both [encounter] spots where people lauded the police action. The CPO announced cash prizes and certificates for the police teams.
