SAHIWAL: A career online job portal having data of 21,000 students has been developed which is available to more than 2,000 local and multinational companies.

The companies can get information about skilled labour force who have obtained three- and five-year education from 400 public sector technical education institutions across Punjab.

This was stated by Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta), Lahore, Chief Operating Officer Khawar Shahzad while inaugurating the first “Job Fair” here on the premises of Government Technical College.

More than 40 companies, including five multinationals, have set up stalls at the fair.

Khawar Shahzad, while talking to Dawn, said the main purpose of the event is to develop a close liaison between manufacturers and technical training educational institutions for engaging the youth labour force for skill development and job opportunities.
