SWABI: People here have demanded of the tehsil municipal administrations (TMAs) of the four tehsils to conduct anti-mosquito spray to kill dengue larvae, as according to official record dengue positive cases in the district reached 104 on Wednesday.

When contacted, officials in the district health office toldthis correspondent that so far 104 positive cases of dengue fever had been confirmed by the public sector hospitals in the district. He said the number of patients could be high as many people visited private hospitals for tests and treatment.

“The actual number of positive cases might be higher than the figure compiled by us,” said an official on condition of anonymity. He said that they had been conducting awareness programmes about precautionary measures to prevent spread of the disease.

KILLED: Two persons were killed when a dumper truck collided with an autorickshaw near the bypass road bus stop here on Wednesday, said Rescue 1122 officials.

They were identified as Rahim Khan, 12, and Gul Sher, 35, and they succumbed to their injuries in Bacha Khan Hospital Complex. They belonged to Maini village.
