QUETTA, Dec 17: An oath-taking ceremony and passing out parade of recruits was held here to mark the joining by 174 soldiers of the Baloch Regiment of the army.

The ceremony was arranged by Mini Baloch Training Centre which was established in 1989 to induct Baloch youths in the army.

Speaking on the occasion, Brig Khurshid Khalid highlighted the history of the regiment and said that it was the pride of the army and comprised soldiers from all provinces.

He said that the regiment had also served in different parts of the world under the flag of the United Nations.

With the induction of another group of 174 soldiers, the number of youths from Balochistan in the Baloch Regiment has reached 1,766.
