TIKTOK is a video-sharing social media app. It is used to create short lip-sync, comedy and talent videos. The app was launched in 2016. According to my point of view, TikTok is a great mischief of modern times and is destroying the young generation.

The app is forcing youngsters to seek fame even at the cost of dignity and self-respect. I have seen many clips of local youth where girls dress up like boys and boys dress up as girls, including in antics best left unsaid. In a number of videos, few bolder girls appear in minimum clothing.

This is not a trend that can be tolerated in our society nor does Islam allow this behaviour.

TikTok has 500 million users and is being used in 150 countries of the world. In this fallacious app Pakistan stands at 7th position with almost 11.8 million users, most of whom are women. There were also trending challenges in TikTok, Kiki challenge is one of the trending challenges banned in many countries.

The government should ban this app as it is extremely harmful for our youth’s mental health.
