TOBA TEK SINGH: A youth was on Tuesday brutally tortured for contracting love marriage at Chak 179-GB.
Some 20 days back, Nauman Shahid of Chak 179-GB, Gojra, contracted love marriage with a girl of Chak 211-GB (Faisalabad).
On Tuesday, girl’s cousins Rizwan and Shahid, residents of Chak 179-GB, overpowered Nauman and took him to a playground where they allegedly cut his legs and arms.
He was rushed to Gojra tehsil headquarters hospital from where doctors referred him to Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital in a critical condition. Nauman has been put on ventilator.
When contacted, police spokesperson Attaullah said DPO Waqar Shoaib Qureshi had formed a team, led by DSP Khalid Mahmood Ranjha, to arrest the suspects who managed their escape after locking their house.
