KALAYA/BUNER: Seven persons, including a man and his son, were killed over land and family disputes in Orakzai and Buner districts on Monday.

Four people, among them a passer-by, were killed and two others injured when rival groups clashed over a land dispute in the central tehsil of Orakzai tribal district.

Official sources said the armed men of Shahzad and Latif groups exchanged fire in Masood Kali area. As a result of the firing, three men from Shahzad’s group and a passer-by were killed, while two men from the Latif group were injured.

The victims included Shahzad Gul, Javed Khan and Mohammad Ashraf, while the passer-by was identified as Fazal Rahim.

The Levies personnel arrested two accused, including Latif Khan and the injured Mukamil Khan, and recovered weapons from their possession.

Meanwhile, a petty family dispute claimed lives of three persons, including a man and his son, in Dakara village of Buner.

According to Totalai police, Hakim Khan argued with his son, Hussain Khan over a family dispute and opened fire on him. Later, the injured also picked up a Kalashnikov and shot his father dead.

During the firing, wife of injured Hussain also received bullet injuries and died. The injured Hussain also succumbed to his injuries.

The police registered triple murder case and started investigations.
