KOHAT: The sisters of Kashif Shinwari, who was killed allegedly with the connivance of his wife, have demanded police action against the alleged killers and provision of security.

Addressing a press conference at Kohat Press Club on Sunday, Mehreen Shinwari and Naureen Shinwari accompanied by three children of Kashif said that their brother had gone to Malaysia for job after which his wife shifted to the house of her parents taking all the cash and jewellery with her, but left the children behind with them.

They said that when Kashif returned and went to the house of his in-laws to bring his wife, they refused to allow her to go with her husband. Annoyed by the refusal, he exchanged hot words with his in-laws and soon after he was killed at the doorstep of his house, allegedly by his brother-in-law Inayatullah Shinwari and cousin Ahmed Rasheed.

Say the two are also claiming rent of their family’s shops, houses

The sisters said that they lodged an FIR against the two, but they were released on bail after 15 days and now they were hurling threats at them.

The two suspects were also demanding rent of houses and shops which were the property of the father of three sisters and three brothers of Kashif, it was added.

Kashif’s sisters said that he had bought a life insurance policy for the benefit of his children and after his death his in-laws were claiming Rs2.5 million as right of his wife. They demanded that the police should take action against the killers and provide them security.

COLLEGE PROJECT: Former provincial minister Qalbe Hassan said on Sunday that he had got sanctioned Rs20 million for the construction of girls college in Ustarzai five years ago, but it was still incomplete due to lack of interest by PTI MPs from the area.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said that the previous government of Awami National Party had started the project so that the girls from Juzara, Raisan, Ustarzai, Mohammadzai and Nasratkhel could have an easy access to college education.

Meanwhile, tehsil deputy nazim Shahid Mehmood criticised the merger of Urban 6 area of PK-82 with the rural part of PK-80 constituency. In a statement, he claimed that the elders had also shown their reservations about the inclusion of Urban 6 area of PK-82 into PK-80’s and expressed his astonishment that an urban area had been turned into rural.

ARRESTED: The police arrested two wanted criminals and 26 suspects during an operation here on Sunday. The two had been booked under the anti-terrorism act after they gunned down three people in the city and fled away.

The police also seized one Kalashnikov, four repeaters, six pistols and two kilogrammes of hashish during the operation.
