QUETTA: A meeting presided over by Balochistan Minister for Environment and Information Technology Prince Ahmed Ali Ahmedzai reviewed the Quetta Safe City Project on Sunday.

The minister was informed by officials concerned that CCTV cameras would be installed at six entry and exit point of the city to monitor movement of incoming and outgoing vehicles.

The meeting discussed proposed points for installation of 1,400 CCTV cameras under the project.

Inspector General Police Moazzam Jah Ansari and Director of the project DIG Akbar Nasar briefed the minister about measures taken so far for launching the project and different aspects of the project.

They pointed out in which areas steps were needed to maintain law and order and spoke about proposed schemes for traffic management and preparation for dealing with an emergency situation.

Mr Ahmedzai said that Chief Minister Mr Abdul Quddus Bizenjo was keen on implementation of the project to make the provincial capital a safe city and protect its residents. He said that restoring peace and order was top priority of the government and it would take all measures to fulfil its responsibility in this regard.

Information Technology Secretary Dr Aftab Baloch, Additional IG, Chaudhry Manzoor Sarwar and DIG of Quetta range Abdul Razzaq Cheema also attended the meeting.
