India has barred Pakistani players from taking part in the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) in which players from 16 countries will participate, Hindustan Times reported.
Indian Sports Minister Vijay Goel on Monday asserted that no players from Pakistan will be allowed to take part in the upcoming PKL "unless Pakistan gets rid of its terrorism," the Indian daily reported.
Goel said that even if the organisers of the league, scheduled to begin on June 25, select Pakistani players to participate, "it is [the] Government of India which will decide whether they are allowed [to play] or not", the daily reported.
"Unless Pakistan gets rid of terrorism, it is impossible to play with Pakistan," the Indian minister added.
In keeping with the stance of the Indian govt, the PKL franchise "turned their backs on the 10-odd Pakistani players", the Indian daily reported.
It is expected that as the league begins in June, none of the Pakistani players listed for auction will be selected to participate.
Ten players from Pakistan had been listed to be auctioned to franchises.

Guys its easy for you and me to say that it's okay if they don't go. This is the livelihood of Kabaddi players and other sports persons. They are missing out on a tremendous financial opportunity because of the escalating tension between the two countries. And the way people are beating their chest on both sides I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel. Overall India is still maintaining its tremendous economic development owing to its size and ironically China-India still are the largest trading partners in SAARC countries at 70 Billion USD which is going up exponentially.

This is a sensible decision by the Indian government considered the state of relationship between the two countries.
PKL is a domestic sports league and the discretion to allow or bar players from certain nationalities is with the Indian establishment.
Why do Pakistanis assume that it is their entitlement to be called for such events??
Neither Indians nor Pakistanis are happy with each other as seen in any forum of interaction. Then why do Pakistanis want to be part of an Indian event???
The only real reason for Pakistani players interest in the PKL is the money involved and the opportunity to make big bucks.
Letting Pakistani players into PKL does not benefit India in any way - so it's a great decision!!!!

We have no issues with India except Kashmir. We have no hate for India and we have always welcomed Indians in Pakistan as long as they are not here for any terrorist activities.
