LAHORE: Patients will now be examined in the outpatient department (OPD) of the Lahore General Hospital in two shifts.

Earlier, Mayo Hospital was the only teaching infirmary in the city operating two shifts in its OPD.

The hospital pharmacy would also remain open from 8am to 8pm, decided the LGH administration at a meeting on Saturday, while the evening OPD shift will operate from 2pm to 8pm on all working days.

People employed with public or private organisations during the day would be the real beneficiaries of the evening shift as they would be able to approach senior doctors without taking leave from work, said Prof Ghiyasun Nabi Tayyab, the principal of Post-Graduate Medical Institute and LGH while presiding over the meeting.
