The Lahore Arts Council (LAC) in collaboration with Walled City of Lahore Authority is organising Lahore Calligraphy Festival in connection with legendary artist Sadequain’s 30th death anniversary.

A two-day exhibition will feature works of renowned as well as emerging artists. The festival will showcase art forms inspired by calligraphic expressions such as traditional and modern calligraphic paintings, fashion design with calligraphic imprint, ceramics with calligraphic inscriptions, furniture with engravings, sculptures with calligraphic forms.

The final date for the submission of artworks is Feb 10 whereas the festival will be held at Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall on Feb 18 and 19.

To pay tribute to Hayat Ahmed Khan, the founder of All Pakistan Music Conference (APMC) on his 12th death anniversary, the APMC will hold an event at Alhamra, The Mall on Feb 6.

The singers expected to perform at the event are Ustad Jafar Hussain, Kashif Ali, Ustad Wajid Ali, Suleman Amanat, Raza Shaukat, Ustad Pervaiz Paras, Qamar Abbas, Ustad James Masih, Tauseef Abbas, Mehmood Hassan and Waris Ali. Khairat Ali will play the harmonium.

Athree-day food festival will be held at Royal Palm Golf and Country Club from Feb 3 to 5.

The festival promises to offer diverse flavours ranging from traditional to continental, Asian, Turkish, Lebanese and Italian.

The cuisines were selected based on the reviews and feedback of the online food portal Foodies ‘R Us. Visitors will be able to taste the many culinary delights on offer cooked and supplied by local restaurateurs and chefs from all corners of Lahore.

The event also celebrates home-based chefs who make up a significant part of the activity bringing a range of their multi-generational family recipes, soul food and unique flavours.
