OKARA: Five members of a group of the Muslim Students Federation (MSF), the student wing of the PML-N, were severely injured by their rival group outside the Govt Postgraduate College here on Monday.

The MSF was divided into two rival groups, one led by Imran Younus Mani while the other by Ali Jat.

Ali Jat, a student of the college, led a rally outside the college against Mani group and raised slogans against him and his group.

Going along the boundary wall when the rally reached Data Chowk, Imran Mani and his group attacked it with batons and firearms.

They injured Ali Asghar Bhatti, Irfan Sikandar, Abrar Ahmad and Riaz of the Ali Jat group with batons and sticks. They opened fire at Ali Jat and left him injured.

The injured were rushed to the DHQ Hospital from where Ali Jat was referred to the Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, in a serious condition.

Both the groups had a quarrel at emergency ward of the DHQ Hospital about 10 days back.
