LAHORE: A member of the Minhajul Quran has approached the district and sessions court again for registration of a criminal case against heads of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) for allegedly not paying a promised amount for participating in its sit-in in Islamabad.

Petitioner Hajan Momina stated that in light of the court’s previous direction she submitted an application to the Faisal Town Police Station for registration of a case but the station house officer (SHO) refused. She asked the court to order the SHO to register a first information report on her application.

An additional district and sessions judge heard the contention and sought comments from the SHO within a week.

The woman sought registration of a case against PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, his son Hasan Mohiyuddin, daughter Fatima and PAT President Raheeq Abbasi for not paying Rs3,500 per day to each woman of her seven-member group for joining the party’s anti-government protest in Islamabad.
