LANDI KOTAL: Eleven people, seven suspected militants among them, were killed in air strikes and other incidents in Tirah and Bara areas of Khyber Agency on Tuesday.

Security officials said military planes pounded positions of the banned Lashkar-i-Islam (LI) and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Nakai and Kukikhel areas of Tirah valley, killing seven militants and destroying three of their hideouts.

The claim could not be independently verified.

Meanwhile, sources in Mehraban Kalay of Tirah valley said that a man was publicly killed by militants on a charge of spying.

The incident is second of its kind in the area in less than a week.

The area is under the control of militants belonging to the LI and Tariq Afridi group of the TTP.

In Bara, personnel of Khasadar force found bullet-riddled bodies of two men.

They were taken to Levies Centre in Shah Kas for identification.

Sources in Bazaar Zakhakhel area said that an activist of the pro-government Tawheedul Islam group was killed in Nari Bara.
