LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Saturday sent the father of Farzana, bludgeoned to death by her family, to jail on judicial remand with a direction to police to submit challan within the stipulated time.

The Mozang police investigating officer told the court that as interrogation was completed, the custody of suspect Muhammad Azeem was not required. He asked the court to send the suspect on judicial remand.

A deputy prosecutor told the court that three more suspects had already been arrested while raids were being conducted for the arrest of others.

The court sent the suspect to jail on judicial remand.

Twenty-five-year-old Farzana was beaten to death with bricks on May 27 near the Lahore High Court by her family members, including her father and brothers, for marrying a man of her choice.
