SWABI: The body of a fifth grade student was found in a field on Thursday a day after he went missing from his neighborhood at Kaddi village here.

Registering an FIR in Zaida police station, Mohammad Yazdani said that his son Mohammad Hadani, a fifth grade student, had gone to his aunt’s house in the neighbourhood, but did not return home in the evening.

He said that they remained clueless about him for the whole night. On Thursday morning, Mr Yazdani went to Zaida police station to register an FIR about disappearance of his son.

“We were sitting in Zaida police station when we got the information that the child is lying dead in the nearby field,” said one of his relatives.

Police suspect the child was molested and then strangled

Mr Yazdani is a medical technician at Shahmansoor Hospital Complex and when his colleagues knew about the incident they closed the outpatient department in protest and demanded immediate arrest of the killers.

“It seems that the child was molested and then strangled to death,” claimed police officials.

District police officer Sajjad Khan also visited the area and formed a team, headed by DSP Nisar Khan, to probe the incident within three days and arrest the killers.

Meanwhile, paramedical association’s district president Fazal Hakim demanded immediate arrest of the killers. He said that they would hold a meeting on Friday (today) to finalise their line of action.

POWER LOADSHEDDING: Electricity consumers belonging to various areas of the district said on Thursday that the Peshawar Electric Supply Company had been resorting to prolonged loadshedding. They said that duration of outages had been increased with the rise in temperature.

They demanded of the Pesco authorities to stop unscheduled power cuts.

“We have given sacrifices for the construction of Tarbela Dam and Ghazi Barotha hydropower project, but are subjected to prolonged power outages,” said Fazal Malik of Topi city.

Residents of Maneri said that whenever the power supply was stopped they did not know when it would be restored.
