SWABI: A policeman was killed and two were seriously injured when unidentified persons attacked a police patrol here on Friday. The police vehicle was attacked in Malik Abad village in Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate, seriously injuring three personnel. The injured were taken to district headquarters hospital, wherefrom they were referred to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, said an official.

However, Wisal Khan, an hawaldar, died in the hospital. He belonged to Rustam area of Mardan. The injured were identified as Gadoon Amazai police station SHO Riaz Khan and sub-inspector Ziaullah, said the official.

The funeral prayers of the deceased were held in Shahmansoor police lines in Swabi.

Meanwhile, a case was registered in Gadoon Estate police station against the unidentified attackers and investigations began.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed and three others injured when an auto-rickshaw collided with a tractor-trolley in Yar Hussain bazaar in Chota Lahor tehsil, police said. The victims were named Inayatullah and Rashid Khan.

The injured included Rashid’s wife, Wajida, Saba Gul and a minor child whose name could not be ascertained. The tractor-trolley driver escaped.

The police registered the case against the tractor driver and began investigation.
