More than just a ritual

This is regarding the story “More than just a ritual” by Syed Talha Rizwan (YW June 6th). The story focused on the message that we must fulfil our responsibilities and duties with care.

We must also remember that the animal we bring for Eid is to be sacrificed. This act serves as a powerful lesson that true love lies in obedience and surrender to the Will of Allah.

So, instead of feeling sadness, we should show respect, gratitude and reflect on the true meaning behind the ritual.

Graduation cap pen!

This is regarding the Wonder Craft “Graduation pen cap” by The Crafter (YW, May 24). I loved making this craft, especially for my sister who secured the third position in her class. It was a big achievement for all of us, and this craft truly made her day when I presented it to her.

I enjoy making crafts, and this section is my absolute favourite in the magazine!

Being smart is not bad

This is with reference to the story “Being smart is not bad” by Ahmed Irfan Qazi (YW, May 24th).

I found the storyline quite unrealistic and hard to relate to. In real life, no one intentionally scores poorly just to make someone else feel better. It just doesn’t seem like something a top student would actually do.

Also, the idea that someone would go to such lengths, and then be made fun of by the classmate he tried to help, made the whole situation seem awkward.

Being kind and thoughtful is important, but so is being smart and logical, and purposely failing a test just doesn’t seem believable. But I do agree with the final message that you don’t need to prove your worth to anyone else.

Deceived online

This is regarding the story “Deceived online” by Ayman Siddiqui (YW, June 28th).

It was a powerful and relatable story that highlighted the dangers of trusting strangers on social media. The story showed a realistic situation many teens face, the urge to join social media and fit in. The twist, where the online friend turns out to be a criminal, was unexpected and the guilt the main character feels was well expressed.

However, the ending felt a bit rushed. I wish there had been more detail about the online chats and how the character dealt with the situation afterwards. The topic is important and needs to be discussed to spread awareness.
