KALAYA, Oct 28 At least 12 militants and a security man were killed in attacks on security forces and strikes by helicopter gunships in Orakzai on Thursday.
Officials said a security convoy was going from Kalaya to Meshti Bazaar when a vehicle hit an explosive device detonated by remote control. Hawaldar Jawad Hussain was killed and five other personnel were injured.
After the attack, security forces launched a search operation. Gunship helicopters attacked militant positions in several areas of upper tehsil, killing 12 militants and injuring eight.
