KARACHI Ten people lost their lives in separate incidents while LEAs continued with operations in various parts of the city, DawnNews reported.

Two men were killed in incidents of firing in Cheek Chowk, Lyari and Khairabad in Orangi Town. In Keamari, Ashiq Hussain was shot dead near Nagina Centre while Amir was killed by unidentified men in Ghani Chowrangi.

Two men lost their lives in separate incidents of firing in Golimar and Machar Colony. Yet another young man who was shot in North Nazimabad lost his life during medical treatment.

Meanwhile, a bank security guard, who was wounded during an encounter when fleeing dacoits opened fire at the police, succumbed to his injuries.

Two bodies were also recovered from Manghopir and Lea Market area on Wednesday.

 LEAs carry out raids

Meanwhile, during different raids carried out by the police, CID and Rangers, three extortionists and gangsters were nabbed while weapons were also seized.

In a raid carried out in Dalmiya, Shanti Nagar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, police recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition's including rockets from the office of a banned outfit and a junk dealer’s shop next door.

In Manghopir, CID arrested three extortionists Naimat Mehsud, Baqi Mehsud and Hameed Mehsud after an encounter. The trio had demanded a sum of Rs500,000 from industrialist Shafiq and had showed up at his factory.

In another raid carried out in Lyari, Rangers arrested a gangster called Baba Lashari and recovered weapons and other looted items from his possession.

Two gangsters were nabbed in a raid, and weapons including five Kalashnikovs, two LMG rifles and hand grenades were recovered from their possession.
