QUETTA, July 8: Four people, a policeman among them, were killed and four others injured in incidents of firing in different parts of Balochistan on Sunday.

According to sources, gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on Sub-Inspector Mohammad Rafeeq in Bolan colony of Khuzdar and escaped. The sub-inspector received multiple bullet injuries and died.

A shopkeeper was shot dead in Sariab road area of Quetta.Police took the body to hospital where he was identified as Mohammad Ramazan, a resident of the Sariab area. Police sources called it a case of targeted killing.

A man and his wife were killed and their two young daughters were injured when armed men opened fire on them in Goth Ali Nawaz of Osta Mohammad tehsil in Jaffarabad district.

The dead were identified as Ali Nawaz Buledi and Soomri Bibi and the injured girls as Darree Bibi and Robina Bibi.

Some matrimonial dispute is said to be behind the attack.

In Almadar road area of Quetta, unidentified men opened fire on Zafar Shah, an employee of the Sui Southern Gas Company.

He was admitted to the civil hospital for moderate wounds.

The cause of the attack could not be ascertained.

Gunmen on a motorbike opened fire on Mohammad Nabi in the main bazaar of Mastung town, seriously injuring him.

Police took the injured to the district headquarters hospital where his condition was said to be out of danger.

ACCIDENT: A man was killed when a trailer collided with a truck in the Othal area of Lasbella district.

The deceased was identified as Wazir Ahmed.
