RAWALPINDI, Oct 18: The Civil Aviation Authority has awarded Rs25,000 to Special Olympic athlete Misbaha Tariq in a ceremony held at the Benazir International Airport here on Tuesday.
The 12-year-old Misbaha had won three silver medals in the recently concluded Special Olympics in Athens, Greece.
It is worth mentioning that Misbaha had also won four gold and five silver medals in special regional Olympics, held in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has already announced Rs300,000 for her.
Misbaha Tariq in her brief statement said that she was happy to represent Pakistan at the international level.
She vowed to win more medals for the country if given proper financial assistance.—Sports Reporter
