THE Kati Pahari project was revived during Naimatullah Khan’s tenure. It would have consisted of a recreational park one-and-a-half square miles in area on Pahar Ganj, North Nazimabad.

However, most of the land there has now been encroached upon by people having links to political parties.

How I wish that the Kati Pahari project was revived and an additional budget was approved for it. An attraction for people is badly needed in the locality to provide them some succour from the present mess and unpleasant happenings all over Karachi.

As everybody knows, too many playgrounds and huge plots consisting of many acres have already been encroached upon by various political parties who have constructed buildings and residential bungalows there.

All the four provinces interested in similar projects can ask private investors to help them out. Besides, they can develop brotherhood between themselves by sharing a percentage of commercially planned viable projects.
