PESHAWAR, March 10: The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Thursday organised a poster exhibition in collaboration with Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) here at chamber house. Chairman, Standing Committee on Commerce, Senate, Senator Ilyas Ahmad Bilour and president SCCI Usman Bashir Bilour inaugurated the exhibition. The research posters of different universities and PCSIR were displayed in the day-long exhibition.
Dr Manzoor Hussein Soomro, Director General PASTIC and Chairman, Pakistan Science Foundation, vice president, SCCI, Javed Akhtar, members of executive body, officials of Higher Education Commission and varsities researchers were present.Addressing the ceremony, Senator Ilayas Bilour stressed the need for promoting academic and industries ties and said the industrial sector will boost with modern research in the province. There was need to exploiting modern technology and enhancing culture of research, he added.
SCCI President Usman Bashir Bilour called for carrying out extensive research to develop contemporary equipments for curbing extremism and terrorism.
He lauded the efforts of PASTIC for arranging such a creative event and said the economic situation would be stabilised through introduction of modern and latest technology in commerce and trade sectors.
He extended full support and cooperation for cementing linkages between educational institutions and industry in the province.—APP
