SWABI, Jan 12: Four persons were killed and one was injured in three separate incidents in the district on Wednesday, police said.

In the first incident, a man was killed and another injured in Kalu Khan area over an old enmity. Mohammad Ishaq told police that Mohammad Awan and his brother Mohammad Tawab opened firing on him and his uncle, Amjad Ali, when they were on their way home.

He said that his uncle was killed on the spot and he himself received bullets injuries in the firing.

In another incident, Fanus Khan and Shamshul Tamraiz, a resident of Mardan district, were killed by unidentified persons in the same area. Mohammad Fayaz, the son of the deceased Fanus Khan, told police that his father and their guest Tarmaiz went to meet someone but they didn't return. “They didn't disclose at home where they were going. We were informed by people that their bodies were lying in the fields in Hamza Dher area,” he added.

Meanwhile, a young man was shot dead in Panjpir village. However, the name of the deceased and cause of the incident couldn't be ascertained.

SCHOOL: The local chapter of Awami National Party has decided to build Bacha Khan Model School in the district to equip young generation with modern and quality education.

The decision was taken at a meeting, which was presided over by ANP district president Haji Rehmanullah.
