LAHORE, Feb 10: Post offices in the provincial metropolis have suspended registration and renewal of driving licences without the receipt of a no-objection certificate by the issuing authority.
The Lahore SP Traffic, in a letter informed the post office authorities that bogus driving licences issued in some districts of the province had been caught in the provincial metropolis.
He advised the post office authorities that no driving licence should be registered or renewed until and unless the holder brought a no-objection certificate from the issuing authority.
The post office officials have displayed the copies of the letter at the vehicles licence and registration counters and are refusing to renew even the licences issued by the Lahore Traffic Police without the NOC not to speak of the licences issued by the traffic authorities of the other districts.
Driving licences issued in any district are valid throughout a province under the law but not in Lahore anymore.
