BAHAWALPUR: Seven persons suffered burns, four of them of serious nature, on Thursday in a gas cylinder explosion and fire in a bakery at Chungi No 5 at Burewala in Vehari district.
According to Rescue 1122 media coordinator, the emergency service was informed that because of gas leakage in a cylinder in the kitchen of Al-Karam Sweets and Bakers, a fire erupted with an explosion, leaving seven bakery workers with burns.
Following the information, the rescuers rushed to the scene and shifted four of the workers suffering serious burns to the Burewala THQ Hospital. They were identified as Habibur Rehman, Ali Raza, Hassan Ali and Shabeer.
Three others – Qaisar, Abdul Rehman and Haseeb – were rendered first aid at the scene.
Firefighter extinguished the blaze after hectic efforts.
WOMAN DIES: A woman died and a youth was injured after they fell from a motorcycle following one of its tyres burst.
The incident occurred on a road at Dhoorekote near Uch Sharif, resulting in the death of Saib Bibi (60), while Ishfaq (18), suffered injuries.
A Rescue 1122 team, called to the spot, shifted the body and the injured youth to their house.
