GUJRAT: The immigration authorities of Federal Investigation Agency claimed to have arrested two passengers attempting to smuggle foreign currency through illegal means at the Sialkot International Airport.

An FIA official said the suspects --Hazrat Ali of Swat and Wajid Khan of Charsadda, were travelling to UAE by an Air Arabian flight from the Sialkot Airport on Saturday.

Checking their travel history revealed that they had 48 international departures to UAE since August 2024 to August 2025 --Wajid Khan having 27 while Hazrat Ali 21 departures.

Upon search, 36,000 Saudi Riyal, 205 AED & PKR 9,870 were recovered from their possession.

During interrogation, they disclosed that the recovered foreign currency belonged to Wajid Ali of Sawat. They travel to Dubai and smuggle valuable items and foreign currency to UAE for Wajid Ali, who arranges their tickets and foreign currency, and in return, they receive financial benefits from him.

The whole gang consists of Hazrat Ali, Wajid Khan, Wajid Ali and Zaheer Abbas (commission agent)
