LAKKI MARWAT: An under-construction house of a police official was damaged in an explosion in the Langerkhel Pacca area here late Wednesday night.
A police official confirmed the incident and said that an explosive device planted by terrorists went off with a bang, damaging two rooms of the house.
“After the incident, a party of the Shahbazkhel police station was dispatched to the remote rural area to collect evidence and launch a search for perpetrators,” he added.
Separately, around 50 armed terrorists ransacked the house of a Sindh police official in the Jabukhel area of the district.
An official said that the incident occurred on the night of Aug 12 in the limits of Ghaznikhel police station.
He said the terrorists entered the house of Misal Khan, a sub inspector in the Sindh police and settled in Karachi, and made the inmates hostage at gunpoint.
Complainant Amina Bibi, wife of the police official, told the police that the terrorists set fire to valuable household items.
“They also snatched a mobile phone from my daughter in law, took gold ornaments from a cupboard and threatened to burn the children,” she claimed, telling police that the assailants also damaged the solar system of the tube-well before leaving the place.
He said an investigation had been launched into the incident after registration of a case under the relevant sections of law.
