KARACHI: Governor Kamran Tessori on Tuesday emphasised that the death of two siblings in a fatal accident involving a dumper should not be politicised or given a linguistic twist.

He urged the public not to take the law into their own hands and warned against damaging vehicles.

During a visit to the residence of the two siblings, he assured the bereaved family that a transparent investigation into the accident would be conducted at all costs.

He offered his deepest condolences to the victims’ father, Muhammad Shakir, who also suffered critical injuries in the accident.

Mr Tessori also announced that he would personally oversee the treatment of the injured at Aga Khan Hospital.

The governor extended an invitation to the dumper transporters’ association to engage in a dialogue with him to find a resolution to the issue. “The association should decide how such incidents can be prevented in the future,” he added.

Meanwhile, a statement said that, on the instructions of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah provided assistance to the victims of the accident.

Planning and Development Minister Nasir Hussain Shah met with the injured father of the deceased children on behalf of the chief minister and informed the family about the financial assistance that would be provided to them.

The chief minister ordered the authorities to cover all medical expenses for the injured, ensuring they received the necessary treatment.

He assured the family that the victims would not be left alone and that the government would provide all possible assistance.

The chief minister vowed to take strict measures to prevent such accidents in the future. “The protection of citizens is our top priority,” he added.
